The recent events in my life have made me a bit nostalgic. Yesterday, I decided to play the album released by my old band, Affectus. I realize this looks and sounds like a shameless plug, but as the last song played, tears began to well up inside of me. Titled Excommunicated, it fits so well with my current state. You can listen, if you want, or not. That's ok. If you don't want to, or can't, I'll attach the lyrics, so maybe you can understand why it provoked such emotion from me.
All these demons in cathedrals
Banished me without confession
For my passion
Now my eyes are open wide
I see the zealous stones they cast at me
It's not time to cry
For a life gone by
It's your time to fly
You were excommunicated from the sky
Moonlight shining through the window
Sleeping in a cradle lies my own reflection
When I look into the future
I can only pray he's just like me
It's not time to cry
For a life gone by
It's your time to fly
You were excommunicated from the sky
It's not time to cry
For a life gone by
It's your time to fly
It's not time to cry
For a life gone by
It's your time to fly
You were excommunicated from the sky
