I posted a few days ago about how I believe Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy should be free to speak his mind and state the views of his company without fear of any government entity barring them from expanding into their jurisdiction. Freedom of speech is a right that we must protect at all cost. We must protect it even when we don't like what we are hearing.
It is also my belief that there are consequences for the things we say and do so I fully support individuals and pro-equality corporations boycotting Chick-fil-A. What baffles me is that it took Dan Cathy saying the things he did to cause the uproar that we've seen in the press lately. Chick-fil-A's contributions are what is truly disgusting. The entities that they have contributed to are the among the vilest hate groups of our time. They spew hatred of their fellow man while proclaiming to follow a 1st Century Galilean carpenter who preached not hate but love, tolerance, and acceptance.
Anyway, I came across this graphic courtesy of the Facebook page 1,000,000 Strong to Help Improve Tea Party Patriots' Spelling and Grammar and I felt it was a perfect way to illustrate who Chick-fil-A gives to and what those groups stand for.
If there were ever a reason to boycott a corporation this is it. I'm just thankful that Dan Cathy decided to open his mouth one more time and bring attention to what they've been doing all along. It's really a pity they had to do this because they sure have some darn good chicken sandwiches. I'm going to miss that chicken!
